Attendance
Daily school attendance is not only mandatory, it is absolutely essential to ensure that each student masters grade level standards.
Class begins at 8:00 am every morning. Students may be dropped off beginning at 7:40am. Please keep in mind that students must be in their seats by 8:00am as that is when attendance and lunch count are taken. If your children are not going to make it to their class on time, you must park in the designated parking spaces and sign your children in at the front office. If you do not sign them in, they will have an unexcused tardy.
Afternoon carpool begins at 3:00 pm. If you need to pick up your children from school early, please do so before 2:40 p.m. We can not dismiss students between 2:40 & 3:00 pm. It is very difficult to locate them as they are at lockers/cubbies and switching classrooms while they prepare to leave for the day.
You must call your child in when they are absent by calling 303-841-9816 and selecting option 2. They must be called in on the attendance line by 8:00 a.m. If we do not have a message about your child's absence by 8:00 a.m. they will be marked unexcused. When calling the attendance line, please remember to list the following information:
- Name of student who is absent
- Date or dates of absence
- Reason for absence
- Name of your child's teacher
Do not leave hot lunch requests on the attendance line if your child will be late to school. Often, your message will not be received until lunch count has been turned in. Please call the main office at 303-841-9816 before 8:30am if you wish to order a hot lunch from Nutrition Services for your child on a day they will be late to school. If you do not call the main office with this information, please be sure that your student comes to school with a sack lunch.
When lightning is in the area the students will be kept in the school and can only be dismissed when you come to the door to pick them up. We cannot send a child out from under cover with lightning in the area, however, you can come in to get them if you feel comfortable doing so. If you are uncomfortable getting out of your car, please wait until the weather has moved away. On these days, we will hang a lightning flag from the front of the school building.
