Specific Job Responsibilities
President
- Will serve a one year term after a one year term as the elected vice president.
- Will appoint the secretary, communications officer, and committee chairs.
- Will promote the PVA to the school community and draw people to meetings and events.
- Will set the meeting calendar, agendas for meetings, and run the meetings.
- Will oversee the committees to ensure they have their needs met.
- Will communicate with director/principle and receive approval for all events and communications to parent body.
- Will be a voting member of the SAC, attend SAC meetings and keep them up to date of all PVA activities.
- Will have children currently attending C2E.
Vice President
- Will serve a one year term by election. Will serve one year term as president after term as vice president.
- Will support president in drawing parent participation into PVA.
- Will act as president in their absence.
- Will take over for the president if they should leave the position.
- Will hold an election to fill the VP position if they should fill president's position.
Secretary
- Will get meeting agenda from president and post on website and at school at least 24 hours in advance of meeting.
- Will take minutes at each PVA Meeting.
- Will have minutes from prior meeting ready for approval at following meeting.
- Will post minutes on website after approval.
Committee Chair Persons
- Will hold position by appointment, can be reappointed for another term.
- Will recruit parents to their committee.
- Will set their calendar of events.
- Will communicate w/president about their needs and approval requests.
- Will communicate w/communications officer for newspaper and calendar to provide information from their committee to the parents.
- Will plan and organize any additional meetings needed for their committee and communicate with their committee as needed.
PVA Meetings
- Will be held every other month. Five in total for the year.
- Dates will be posted at the beginning of each school year.
- Agenda will be posted 24 hours in advance of meeting.
- Meetings will have representation from all committees.
- First hour will be updates from all committee chairs; the second hour can be break out session for the individual committees.
- Will attempt to hold meetings to two hours or less.
PVA Membership
- All Parents are members of the PVA and participation is greatly encouraged.
- All parents have skills and personal energy to offer the school which will enhance the activities put on by the PVA.
- Members are encouraged to work in their areas of interest or expertise.
- Members should always respect one another especially if disagreements or conflicts occur.
- Members may seek the assistance of the SAC or GC in situations of conflict or concern.
- The membership goal is to work together in positive ways which will set a great example for our children while improving our school community.
Elections
- Will be open to entire parent community.
- Candidates will submit a letter of intent to run.
- Will be held with the SAC elections, on separate ballots, during carpool.
- Are won by the candidate who receives the most votes.
- If only one candidate is running for the position, no election is necessary.
